Seeds, cast iron, and tools for growing your own
A curated homestead supply shop, run from a working Zone 6a homestead in Michigan. Every maker is named. Everything ships from the United States.
-
Ships from the US
Every item comes from an independent American supplier and ships direct. No overseas warehouses, no surprise customs charges.
-
30 days to return
No restocking fees, ever. If something arrives damaged or wrong, we pay the return shipping.
-
Chosen, not scraped
We don't make what we sell — we pick it. The maker's name is on every product page, because they earned it.
-
From a real homestead
Raised beds, cattle panel tunnels, a spiral herb garden and more chickens than planned. We grow what we sell the tools for.

What we're doing in October
Plant garlic now. In Zone 6a the window runs through about mid-November — cloves in the ground before the hard freeze, mulched, and forgotten until spring.
Start microgreens on the windowsill. Indoor growing season begins exactly when the garden ends. Ten days from seed to harvest, in a tray on the counter.
Last call for cover crops. Vetch, clover and peas need to be sown now to establish before frost. After this it waits until August.
Grow, Gather, Make Yourself at Home
We're a family of six in Fowlerville, Michigan, growing a ridiculous amount of food on a small piece of land. This shop is the tools, seeds and cookware we wish we'd found sooner — chosen one at a time from independent American makers, never manufactured by us.
